  • OASIS is not HL7 aware.
  • OASIS uses Microsoft Word as its letter writing tool.
  • OASIS can attach and import external documents of the following types:
    1. Portable Document Format (PDF)
    2. Rich Text Format (RTF)

* Deployment recommendation at this point in time should be inline with that specified in our Microsoft Word integration section.

Configuration for Receiving

* If you are using ReferralNet Agent version 3.3.0 and above, use the Archiving Feature.

Configuration for Sending (ReferralNet Word Plugin)

  1. ReferralNet Word plugin supports the ability to send HL7 messages.
  2. As Oasis is using Microsoft Word's Mail Merge facility to generate its letters, the Word Field Mappin in ReferralNet Agent should be configured as follows:
    • Patient Givent Name = M_04
    • Patient Surname = M_03
    • Patient Data of Birth = M_26

Using Oasis to Send Referrals via Microsoft Word

  1. Once a client's record is opened, click on the Click Documents icon.
  2. In the 'Documents' interface, click on the Outgoing icon.
  3. Select one of the Document Templates in the 'Template Selection' interface.
  4. The selection of document template will start Microsoft Word and initiates the Microsoft Mail Merge to extract the required mail merge data from the database of Oasis.
  5. When you construct the document template, make sure it contains the patient's name (first name and last name) and date of birth.
  6. Once you have finished the letter, click on Send Clinical Document located in the 'ReferralNet toolbar' in Microsoft Word and the ReferralNet Agent interface, that allows you to select the recipient within the ReferralNet directory to send the letter to.
