ReferralNet Fax is a fax to secure messaging gateway, allowing clinical faxes to be routed through the ReferralNet secure messaging service. Not only does this cut down on time spent scanning incoming faxes but also allows the faxes to be sent directly to clinical applications or to be placed in a common location on the network.
In order to facilitate around the clock, 24x7 receiving of a practice's correspondence through ReferralNet, it is highly recommended to install a single instance of the agent configured for receiving only, onto a server or workstation that is rarely shut down. The agent instance should be configured to run as a windows service so it does not terminate when user accounts are logged out.
There are three main ways that faxes can be received:
To save the PDF Document to a folder on the network with a HL7 notification configure the receive action as follows:
Note: The full network path should be used when specifing where the PDF should be saved in order for the link in the notification to be accessible from any workstation on the network (subject to network permissions).
To save the PDF Document to a folder on the network with an email notification of its receipt configure receive action as follows:
Note: The full network path should be used when specifing where the PDF should be saved in order for the link in the notification to be accessible from any workstation on the network (subject to network permissions).
