* Don't forget to add and configure the additional action by following the agent backup scheme.
* If you are using ReferralNet Agent version 3.3.0 and above, use the Archiving Feature instead.
* It is recommended that you create the incoming/receiving folder within the ZedMed folder as ZedMed has a limitation of not able to browse external folders.
* If you are using ReferralNet Agent version 3.3.0 and above, use the Archiving Feature.
* It is recommended that you create the outgoing/sending folder within the ZedMed folder as ZedMed has a limitation of not able to browse external folders for incoming/receiving.
Once logged into Zedmed , click
Clinical Records button on the
Receptions tab.
On the
Clinical Records window, click
Global Options on the
Tools menu.
Select the Communications tab on the Global Options window.
Enter 'ReferralNet' as the Description for Other Service 1
Set the Send Path for the generated PIT files to be stored. (Please note if the Zedmed server is used for sending, configure the full network path to the folder in the server, otherwise it will try to send the file from the client machine, which does not have ReferralNet installed.)
Set the Default Send Type to 'ReferralNet'.
Make sure the
Embed RTF into PIT checkbox is selected.
Select the Letters & Templates tab on the Global Options window.
Back to the
Clinical Records window, click
Address Book.
Click
Add New to create a new contact on the
Address Book Search window.
On the Addressbook - New window, select ‘Pathology Laboratory’ as Type of Contact.
Enter ‘ReferralNet’ as Surname/Business Name.
Enter ‘Global Health’ as Given Name.
Select ‘Email Only’ as Preferred Delivery Method.
Set the
DL Directory for the folder where the incoming ReferralNet messages received are stored and click
Ok.
On the
Clinical Records window, click
Address Book.
On the Address Book Search window, select a contact as the recipient. You can also enter the name of the contact and click Find to locate a contact.
If one does not exist, click
Add New to create a new contact.
On the
Detailed Contact window, click on the
Magnifying Glass icon to configure the ReferralNet Username in
ESend Email Address for the recipient.
On the
ESend Email Search window, select the correct ReferralNet Username for the recipient. Click
Ok. You can also enter the owner of the ReferralNet Username and click
Find to locate it.
If one does not exist, click
Add New on the
ESend Email Search window.
Enter the ReferralNet Username for the recipient as the
ESend Email Address, the name of the recipient as the
ESend Email Owner and click
Ok. Recipient.
Back to the Detailed Contact window, set the ESend Method to 'ReferralNet' and click Ok.
On the
Clinical Records window, click
Open Patient.
On the
Find Patient window, enter the patient’s name and click
Find.
On the
CRS Patient Selector window, select the patient and click
Select.
On the
Patient Record window, click the
green play button.
On the
Current Encounter section window, click the
Referral button - 4th button from the left
(Ctrl+R).
On the
Referrals for <patient name>, window, click the
Letters tab.
Select the recipient for the referral letter by clicking the Magnifying Glass icon on the left.
Select the document template for the letter by clicking the Magnifying Glass icon on the right.
Click the
Letter button.
On the
Letter Writer window, perform the necessary changes to the referral letter and click the
Document Properties icon to change the document properties.
Once the document properties are correct, click the
Distribute icon to send the letter.
Click
Yes when prompted to save the referral letter.
On the
Print/Send window, select the
Distribute Now and ‘
Send electronically to all electronic recipients’. Click
Ok.
The
ReferralNet Agent interface will appear, which allows recipient within the ReferralNet directory to be selected for the referral letter to be sent to. Click
Send.

On the
Clinical Records window, click
Import Laboratory Results,
(Ctrl+F6) on the
Results menu. This will result Zedmed to look into the Incoming ReferralNet Message folder and check for new messages.

Click
Results Inbox,
(F6) on the
Results menu.

Perform the necessary actions to the messages on the
Results Inbox window.
