Searching for Providers

The ReferralNet Web site provides the ability to search against 1..n provider directories, with current support for both the ReferralNet and Medicare HESA directories. You are able to search by name or by partial email address and is particularly useful for checking whether a site or individual that has expressed interest in joining the ReferralNet community has current X509 certificates issued to them by Medicare Australia.

This provider search interrogates the publicly available HESA LDAP repository and returns back a list of entities, both individuals and locations that have been issued PKI certificates.

The results returned from the certificate repository are quite limited, but ReferralNet interrogates the actual public certificate and displays important attributes to the screen that enable you to ascertain their validity and whether the certificate email address supplied in the ReferralNet registration process is indeed correct.

AttributeDescription
Name The Common Name (CN) attribute of the public certificate
Email The email address LDAP attribute
Certificates A concatenated display string consisting of the certificate serial #, validity date range and RC-822 certificate attributes.
